Swell design for Swale Trail

Our creative, long-time client Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority (YDNPA) has created a new, family-friendly mountain bike trail in Swaledale, which runs 12 miles between Reeth and Keld.

Yorkshire has become synonymous with cycling thanks to the Tour de Yorkshire event but, until now, there have been no official trails specifically developed for casual, social and family cyclists. The Swale Trail fills that gap.

Even so, not every child appreciates the Great Outdoors in this Screen Age. YDNPA is addressing this with a range of initiatives to intrigue youngesters and inspire them to explore the Yorkshire Dales. Its most recent project has been the development of a 'Viking Challenge' which quizzes children about Swaledale's Viking past, and provides answers along the Swale Trail.

As fans of the National Park and all things outdoorsy, Lathwell & Associates is delighted to have been asked to produce The Swale Trail guide and route map, the Viking Challenge leaflet, and the banner for the Trail launch event. As a big kid himself, our chief designer particularly enjoyed producing the Viking Challenge materials, and couldn't wait to get up to the Dales to discover all the answers first-hand!

The Trail provides a really great day out, and links a number of fabulous 'watering holes' along the way, so why not download the route here, get on your bike, and give it a go?
