Calvert Trust - royal visit

Who had royal designs on Exmoor charity?

Lathwell & Associates was honoured to be invited to rub shoulders with royalty last week at the official opening by HRH Princess Alexandra of our client Devon charity Calvert Trust Exmoor's new £1million building: The Acland Room.

Named in honour of Lady Acland JP, Chairman of the Trustees of The Calvert Trust Exmoor, who led this project, the new building was constructed by Pearce Construction of Barnstaple, working with architects from the David Wilson Partnership.  It has been funded by generous donations from the public, Calvert Trust Trustees and Grant Making Trusts.

One section of the Acland Room provides fully-accessible changing rooms for the popular hydrotherapy pool, built to 'Sport England' standards. The remaining section is a fully-glazed, elevated, communal area that provide visitors with breath-taking views across Wistlandpound Reservoir and down the Yeo River valley - as well as up into the stunning night skies the region's Dark Sky Reserve.

Thanks for the invitation, guys: great success, wonderful honour, and splendid company as always.
